چکیده
A new experimental study by Snider et al. [2020 Nature 586 373–7] reported behavior in a high-pressure carbon-sulfur-hydrogen system that has been interpreted the authors as superconductivity at room temperature. The sudden change of electrical resistance critical temperature and R vs. T with an applied magnetic field point to superconductivity. This is very exciting one most important areas science, hence, it crucial for community investigate these findings hopefully reproduce results. In this paper, we present calculations expand upon arguments put forth Hirsch Marsiglio [ arXiv:2010.10307 ], offer some speculations about physical mechanisms might explain observed data. We show there are errors analysis presented correct analysis, data significantly deviate from expected behavior. particular, extremely sharp superconducting transition not consistent strongly type II superconductor.

Anomalous high-pressure Jahn-Teller behavior in CuWO4.
High-pressure optical-absorption measurements performed in CuWO(4) up to 20 GPa provide experimental evidence of the persistence of the Jahn-Teller (JT) distortion in the whole pressure range both in the low-pressure triclinic and in the high-pressure monoclinic phase. The electron-lattice couplings associated with the e(g)(E⊗e) and t(2g)(T⊗e) orbitals of Cu(2+) in CuWO(4) are obtained from cor...
متن کاملAnomalous anisotropic compression behavior of superconducting CrAs under high pressure.
CrAs was observed to possess the bulk superconductivity under high-pressure conditions. To understand the superconducting mechanism and explore the correlation between the structure and superconductivity, the high-pressure structural evolution of CrAs was investigated using the angle-dispersive X-ray diffraction (XRD) method. The structure of CrAs remains stable up to 1.8 GPa, whereas the latti...
متن کاملHeat Transfer in High-Pressure Metal Hydride Systems
High-pressure metal hydride vehicular hydrogen storage systems can offer good overall gravimetric and volumetric hydrogen densities. Enhanced heat transfer techniques will be essential to achieve established goals for tank filling times. A numerical model is developed to simulate the hydrogen filling process of a subscale high-pressure metal hydride (Ti1.1CrMn) system. The model is validated by...
متن کاملHigh-pressure vibrational spectroscopy of sulfur dioxide.
Solid sulfur dioxide was investigated by vibrational spectroscopy over a broad pressure and temperature range, extending to 32.5 GPa at 75-300 K in diamond anvil cells. Synchrotron infrared spectra provided the first measurements of the pressure dependence of the lattice modes in the far-IR region. Below 17.5 GPa, two fundamentals exhibit splittings enhanced by pressure. The asymmetric stretchi...
