Anisotropic Optical Response of WTe2 Single Crystals Studied by Ellipsometric Analysis

چکیده

In this paper we report the crystal growth conditions and optical anisotropy properties of Tungsten ditelluride (WTe2) single crystals. The chemical vapor transport (CVT) method was used for synthesis large WTe2 crystals with high crystallinity surface quality. These were structurally morphologically characterized by means X-ray diffraction, profilometry Raman spectroscopy. Through spectroscopic ellipsometry analysis, based on Tauc–Lorentz model, identified a refractive index value (~4) distinct tri-axial anisotropic behavior constants, which opens prospects plasmon activity, revealed dielectric function. physical nature shows practical potential low-loss light modulation at 2D nanoscale level.
