چکیده
A 4-year-old, female cocker spaniel was presented for investigation of acute onset vomiting and lethargy. Pyrexia, abdominal discomfort marked distension were detected during clinical examination. Clinicopathological findings revealed mild neutrophilia with band neutrophils. Biochemistry showed a hyperalbuminemia (40 g/L; reference: 23–35) elevation alanine aminotransferase (165 U/L; 0–110). computed tomography scan the abdomen raised suspicion gall bladder wall rupture secondary to necrotising cholecystitis, associated peritoneal effusion cholangitis duodenitis. An exploratory laparotomy cholecystectomy performed, intraoperative lavage. Histopathology necrotic wall, analysis culture free fluid confirmed presence septic exudate growth Escherichia coli. The dog treated potentiated amoxicillin signs resolved. Cases presenting biliary tract could occur without suggestive serum biochemistry findings.

Eosinophilic Cholecystitis Associated with Papillary Hyperplasia of Gall Bladder
Eosinophilic cholecystitis (EC) is a rare entity that presents in a manner comparable to acute cholecystitis. The diagnosis is based on classical symptoms of cholecystitis with the presence of eosinophils (>90%) within the gallbladder. EC has been reported alone (idiopathic EC) or in combination with manifestations such as eosinophilic cholangitis, hypereosinophilic syndromes, and parasitic inf...

متن کاملProstaglandin E2 formation by the gall bladder in experimental cholecystitis.
Both experimental cholecystitis and luminal distension inhibit fluid absorption and stimulate motor activity in the gall bladder. These functional alterations are mimicked by exogenous prostaglandins (PGs) and inhibited by potent cyclooxygenase inhibitors, but direct evidence of a primary role of endogenous PGs is not available. Therefore, experiments in the cat were carried out in which the ef...
