Angle-resolved reflectivity of single-domain photonic crystals: effects of disorder.
Angle-resolved reflectivity has been measured from single-domain photonic crystals consisting of air spheres in a TiO2 backbone. Monochromatic beams are focused to a 10 microm spot, and kept on the rotation axis with a precision better than 10 microm. We report high reflectivity up to 94% and surface domains as large as 200 microm, with a mosaic spread of +/-3 degrees. The maximum reflectivity ...
متن کاملMomentum dependence of the superconducting gap in NdFeAsO0.9F0.1 single crystals measured by angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
We use angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy to study the momentum dependence of the superconducting gap in NdFeAsO0.9F0.1 single crystals. We find that the Gamma hole pocket is fully gapped below the superconducting transition temperature. The value of the superconducting gap is 15+/-1.5 meV and its anisotropy around the hole pocket is smaller than 20% of this value-consistent with an isot...
متن کاملInfluence of optical Kerr coefficient on photonic band structures of hexagonal-lattice function photonic crystals
In this paper, we have studied the photonic band structure of function photonic crystals in which the dielectric constant of the scattering centers (rods) is a function of space coordinates. The under-studied lattice is hexagonal and cross section of rods has a circular symmetry embedded in the air background. Photonic band structures for both electric and magnetic polarizations of the electrom...

متن کاملSingle-atom switching in photonic crystals
We describe the role of first non-Markovian corrections to resonance fluorescence in photonic crystals, using a perturbative expansion of the Heisenberg equations of motion in powers of the atom-field reservoir coupling strength. Non-Markovian effects arise from the rapid variation of the photonic density of states with frequency. Our method recaptures the physics of the photon-atom bound state...
