Anaphylactic Reaction by Local Anesthesia; Knowledge and Attitude among the Dental Practitioners

Aim: To assess the knowledge and attitude of dental practitioners Islamabad Rawalpindi about anaphylactic reaction seen in patients after administration local anesthesia. Method: A questionnaire based cross section study was conducted among randomly selected practicing general specialist surgeons during January to June 2022. About 370 questioners were prepared distributed dentist without any priority or preference area. Two dentists nominated for distribution motivation participating fill form collect filled forms one week time earlier. Results: hundred thirty responded questionnaire. The results indicated that majority participants had more symptoms relating anaphylaxis. However, none demonstrated they knew all Only few experience managingthe reaction. also did not vary with age. 75% emergency drug but 40% them equipped kits their clinic technique use it. Conclusion: Local Anesthesia is routinely used various treatments by Anaphylactic from it can happen anytime patient putting life on risk. deal such situation protect community, serious necessary. Presentstudy has revealed lack reactions theirattitude towardsmanagement which needs be enhanced prevent severe consequences health safety common people seeking treatment.
