On Two Problems Posed by Kenneth Stolarsky
Solutions of two slightly more general problems than those posed by Kenneth B. Stolarsky in [10] are presented. The latter deal with a shape preserving approximation, in the uniform norm, of two functions (1/x) log coshx and (1/x) log(sinhx/x), x ≥ 0, by ratios of exponomials. The main mathematical tools employed include Gini means and the Stolarski means.
متن کاملPolish system of assessing occupational risk posed by chemical compounds.
According to the Polish Labour Code &elpar;Ustawa, 1974) employers are legally obligated to provide workers with information about occupational health and safety risks. Maximum allowable concentrations (MAC) and the results of determining chemical compounds in workplace air are used for assessing occupational exposure and risk. A computer-assisted system STER, developed in the Central Institute...
متن کاملIll-Posed and Linear Inverse Problems
In this paper ill-posed linear inverse problems that arises in many applications is considered. The instability of special kind of these problems and it's relation to the kernel, is described. For finding a stable solution to these problems we need some kind of regularization that is presented. The results have been applied for a singular equation.
متن کاملUsing Ant to Solve Problems Posed by Frequent Deployments
Deploying a system in an agile development environment presents its own set of challenges. If it is true that development cycles are short and that every release is as small as possible, then we are going to be releasing software much more frequently than with other methodologies. Related to this is the concept that the system is never finished, and deployments have to occur throughout the life...
متن کاملSome moral problems posed by sexually transmitted disease.
The prevalence of each sexually transmitted disease in the community is due to interaction between the seed (or agent), the soil (or host), and the social and moral climate. Both syphilis and gonorrhoea are perhaps milder diseases than formerly. This may be due to changes in the host, and also to the fact that an infection that produces severe symptoms is more likely to be diagnosed, treated, a...
