Analytical model of workpiece temperature in axial ultrasonic vibration-assisted milling in situ TiB2/7050Al MMCs

In recent years, as a new method developed for machining difficult-to-cut materials, ultrasonic vibration-assisted technology has been attracting more and attentions due to its superior properties in reducing cutting temperature. However, analytical models revealing the mechanism predicting temperature are still needed be developed. this paper, an model was established predict workpiece milling of situ TiB2/Al MMCs. The heat intensity would directly determined by force which significantly influenced vibration motion. Meanwhile, moving source theory applied calculating dynamic flux partition ratio. Besides, material properties, tool geometry, parameters, parameters were taken into account modeling. Finally, validated experiments with without on TiB2/7050Al metal matrix composites. relative errors between prediction results smaller than 17%, indicating that proposed could provide reliably accurately.
