Mesh-free adjoint methods for nonlinear filters
We apply a new industrial strength numerical approximation, called the “mesh-free adjoint method,” to solve the nonlinear filtering problem. This algorithm exploits the smoothness of the problem, unlike particle filters, and hence we expect that mesh-free adjoints are superior to particle filters for many practical applications. The nonlinear filter problem is equivalent to solving the Fokker-P...
متن کاملDevelopment of Nonlinear Lattice-Hammerstein Filters for Gaussian Signals
In this paper, the nonlinear lattice-Hammerstein filter and its properties are derived. It is shown that the error signals are orthogonal to the input signal and also backward errors of different stages are orthogonal to each other. Numerical results confirm all the theoretical properties of the lattice-Hammerstein structure.
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Operating Systems Using Approximate Analytical Methods
The motivation for the following paper were three models for a variant of a UNIX based multiprocessor operating system that was developed at the Institute for mathematical machines and dataprocessing IV [Jung 91]. These models were formerly analyzed by Markovian methods to get performance measures and the measurements of the real system were also available. This models had the following problem...
متن کاملPerformance evaluation of different estimation methods for missing rainfall data
There are numerous methods to estimate missing values of which some are used depending on the data type and regional climatic characteristics. In this research, part of the monthly precipitation data in Sarab synoptic station, east Azerbaijan province, Iran was randomly considered missing values. In order to study the effectiveness of various methods to estimate missing data, by seven classic s...
متن کاملAnalytical methods for nanomaterial characterization
In recent years, it has become evident that it is necessary to systematically and accurately define particle characteristics in order to understand the potential toxicity of nanoparticles to biological systems. The properties that need to be emphasized are size, shape, dispersion, doping, aggregation, functionalization, physical and chemical properties, surface area, and surface chemistry. Rout...
