چکیده
The assessment of life cycle greenhouse gas emissions motor fuels is important due to the legal obligations and corporate social responsibility petroleum industry. Combining Life-Cycle Assessment with optimization methods can provide valuable support in decision-making process. In this paper, a mathematical model refinery was developed analyze impact process on GHG at fuel production stage. included ten major units. Fuel costs were minimized by taking into account number constraints. analysis performed two steps. First, run for reference case composition. Then, more than twelve thousand runs performed. each model, composition changed. This change represented exogenous pressures resulted different flows mass, energy emission refinery. most favorable results terms then identified analyzed. Additionally, using low-carbon heating evaluated. study showed that blending management could lead reduction 0.4 gCO2-eq/MJ while use 2 ca. gCO2-eq/MJ.

Life-cycle Assessment of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Irrigated Maize: the Life-cycle Analysis
The life-cycle analysis of this multi-institutional project concentrated on determining the greenhouse gas emissions involved in pre-farm, on-farm and post-farm activities involved in the use of maize for the manufacture of corn chips. When the emissions are all expressed in terms of CO2-equivalents (CO2-e), then pre-farm emissions comprise about 5% of the life-cycle emissions, on-farm activiti...

This study estimates the life cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the production of Marcellus shale natural gas and compares its emissions with national average US natural gas emissions produced in the year 2008, prior to any significant Marcellus shale development. We estimate that the development and completion of a typical Marcellus shale well results in roughly 5500 t of carbon dioxid...
متن کاملReducing Australia’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Interim targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are essential to put Australia on track toward the deep emissions cuts required by 2050. This report fi nds that by 2020, emission reductions of greater than 30 per cent below 1990 levels are possible, but only with a wide range of concerted actions in the energy, industry and land-use sectors. If the contributions from energy effi ciency in th...
متن کاملThe Costs of Reducing Greenhouse-Gas Emissions
Human activities around the world are producing increasingly large quantities of greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2) resulting from the consumption of fossil fuels and deforestation. Most experts expect that the accumulation of such gases in the atmosphere will result in a variety of environmental changes over time, including a gradual warming of the global climate, extensive ch...
