چکیده
Abstract This paper presents a formulation for frictionless beam-to-beam contact using the mortar method. The beams are modelled geometrically exact theory. A similar approach has been proposed very recently, with respect to which we offer based on Lagrange-multiplier method and simpler algorithm cover static interaction within zone analyse performance of different orders interpolation Lagrange multiplier in presence self-contact. Appropriate kinematics is developed from residual vector tangent stiffness matrix obtained suitable potential its variation consistent linearisation implementation finite element describing fulfilment described detail. found out be modelling beam theory assumes full rigidity cross-sections as such naturally prone higher oscillations force near boundaries zone. For sufficiently small load steps, however, stable solution obtained, making it appropriate future research.

An Elasticity Solution for Static Analysis of Functionally Graded Curved Beam Subjected to a Shear Force
In this paper, using 2-D theory of elasticity, a closed-form solution is presented for stressdistributions and displacements of a FG curved beam under shear force at its free end. The materialproperties are assumed to vary continuously through the radial direction based on a simple power lawmodel and Poisson’s ratio is supposed to be constant. In order to verify the solution, it is shown that a...
متن کاملA Unified Approach for Beam-to-Beam Contact
Existing beam contact formulations can be categorized in point-to-point contact models that consider a discrete contact force at the closest point of the beams, and line-to-line contact models that assume distributed contact forces. In this work, it will be shown that line contact formulations applied to slender beams provide accurate and robust mechanical models in the range of small contact a...
متن کاملSystem identification of a beam with frictional contact
The nonlinear system becomes an area with numerous investigations over the past decades. The conventional modal analysis could not be applied on nonlinear continuous system which makes it impossible to construct the reduced order models and obtain system response based on limited number of measurement points. Nonlinear normal modes provide a useful tool for extending modal analysis to nonlinea...
متن کاملOutput-only Modal Analysis of a Beam Via Frequency Domain Decomposition Method Using Noisy Data
The output data from a structure is the building block for output-only modal analysis. The structure response in the output data, however, is usually contaminated with noise. Naturally, the success of output-only methods in determining the modal parameters of a structure depends on noise level. In this paper, the possibility and accuracy of identifying the modal parameters of a simply supported...
متن کاملVibration analysis of a rotating closed section composite Timoshenko beam by using differential transform method
This study introduces the Differential Transform Method (DTM) in the analysis of the free vibration response of a rotating closed section composite, Timoshenko beam, which features material coupling between flapwise bending and torsional vibrations due to ply orientation. The governing differential equations of motion are derived using Hamilton’s principle and solved by applying DTM. The natura...
