چکیده

Abstract Background Few studies describe thoracolumbar disc herniation (TLDH) as an isolated category, it is frequently classified the lower thoracic spine or upper lumbar spine. Thus, less known about morphology and aetiology of TLDH compared to (LDH). The aim study investigate sagittal alignment in analyze profile with radiographic parameters. Methods Data from 70 patients diagnosed were retrospectively reviewed. thoracic-lumbar was depicted by description curvatures (the apex curvature, inflexion point two curvatures) parameters complete standing long-cassette radiographs. rank sum test utilised compare parameter values each subtype. Results We found subtypes differentiated kyphotic curves. similar that normal population type I, presenting curve located middle well aligned disrupted II, region II patients. Thirty-six 34 II. mean vertical axis, T1 pelvic angle L1 27.9 ± 24.8°, 8.2 7.3° 6.2 4.9°, respectively. There significant difference ( p < 0.001) between I (14.9 7.9°) (29.1 13.7°). Conclusions presented distinctive profiles patients, a regional deformity balanced validated both subtypes. In degeneration accelerated kyphosis junction eventually caused herniation. excessive mechanical stress directly loaded at top (thoracolumbar region) rather than being diverted arc Mismatch shape sacral slope value observed, better agreement Type

Radiological analysis for thoracolumbar disc herniation in spinopelvic sagittal alignment

A retrospective study aims to explore differences in spinopelvic sagittal alignment between thoracolumbar disc herniation (TLD) and lower lumbar disc herniation (LLD).A total of 185 patients included 26 with TLD and 129 with LLD and 30 asymptomatic volunteers in normal group (NG). Each individual took full spine X-ray to evaluate pelvic incidence (PI), pelvic tilt (PT), sacral slope (SS), lumba...

The Actual Level of Symptomatic Soft Disc Herniation in Patients with Cervical Disc Herniation

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to predict the relationship between the symptomatic disc herniation level and the osteophyte level or decreased disc height in patients with cervical disc herniation. METHODS Between January 2011 and December 2012, 69 patients with an osteophyte of the cervical spine underwent surgery at a single center due to soft cervical disc herniation. Data including s...

Spontaneous Resolution of Symptomatic Thoracic Spine Calcified Disc Herniation: A Case Report and Literature Review

Calcification of intervertebral disc (IVD) is an uncommon but well-defined clinical syndrome in children. Despite its benign nature, occasionally, calcified nucleus pulposus can herniate into the spinal canal. We report an interesting case of calcified disc herniation in the thoracic spine. Although it resulted in cord compression and syrinx formation, it well responded to conservative manageme...
