Analysis of rock cracking characteristics during pyrolysis drilling

چکیده

Thermal jet rock breaking technology refers to the use of high temperature medium such as supercritical water for a rapid local heating rocks break rocks. Because low thermal conductivity matrix, stress will only form on surface. When exceeds strength rock, micro-cracks appear in and continue expand, resulting cracking surface, which cause surface fall off from body rock. Based thermal-solid coupling theory, pyrolysis drilling model was established, distribution law field bottom hole during obtained by using finite element method. The results show that process, heated part increases rapidly, producing gradients radial axial directions. expansion volume is affected compressive direction, buckling direction shear stress. This very important application drilling.

Performance analysis of drilling machines using rock modulus ratio

Rotary drills, diamond drills and percussive drills have been extensively used in open pits, quarries and construction sites. The prediction of the penetration rate of drilling machines is very important in the cost estimation and the planning of the rock excavation projects. The rock modulus ratio, which is the ratio of elastic modulus to compressive strength, indicating the deformability, is ...

Sensitivity Analysis of Stress and Cracking in Rock Mass Blasting using Numerical Modelling

Drilling and blasting have numerous applications in the civil and mining engineering. Due to the two major components of rock masses, namely the intact rock matrix and the discontinuities, their behavior is a complicated process to be analyzed. The purpose of this work is to investigate the effects of the geomechanical and geometrical parameters of rock and discontinuities on the rock mass blas...

Drilling Cost per Unit Volume of Removed Rock - a Criterium of Optimization of Drilling

An approach to the optimization of drilling tools which is based on the analysis of dependence of drilling cost on the tool shape is presented. The effect of tool shape on the energy consumption in rotatory drilling and on the lifetime of tool is studied analytically. It is shown that the main part of drilling energy is consumed not for the rock removal, but rather by the microfracture, shearin...

Can Rock - Eval pyrolysis assess the biogeochemical composition of 1 organic matter during peatification ?

Understanding the responses of soil organic carbon to an increase in global temperature is crucial to estimate potential feedbacks on global warming. In such a context, Rock-Eval pyrolysis has been recently proposed as a screening tool to investigate soil organic matter (SOM) chemistry and vulnerability. In order to test the validity of Rock-Eval as an indicator of SOM chemistry and of OM trans...
