Analysis of Nitrogen Uptake in Winter Wheat Using Sensor and Satellite Data for Site-Specific Fertilization

Sensor- and satellite-based determination of nitrogen uptake provides critical data in site-specific fertilization algorithms. Therefore, two basic noncontact measurement methods (sensor satellite) were investigated winter wheat, their precision was evaluated this study. Nitrogen at four characteristic growth stages (BBCH 31, BBCH 39, 55, 65) determined using algorithms based on sensor satellite data. As a reference, biomass samples the laboratory (ground truth data). The tested statistical indicators (mean, median, minimum, maximum, standard deviation) correlation analyses between ground that respective method. results showed moderate to strong correlations with for both (R2 = 0.57–0.83).
