چکیده
Abstract Objectives Laboratory services are an important part of the healthcare system. However many requested tests may be considered inappropriate or unnecessary. We evaluated laboratory use in a period 3 years terms test repeats. Methods analyzed repeat rate (IRR) hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), 25-OH vitamin D [25(OH)D], thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free triiodothyronine (FT3), thyroxine (FT4), anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody (anti-TPO), B12, folate, iron, ferritin and total cholesterol light clinical guidelines. In TSH, FT3, FT4 parameters, between 4.2 5.3%, while it 12.9 15.5% for 25(OH)D, ferritin, cholesterol. all (except anti-TPO), IRRs were higher inpatients each years. Inappropriate repetition cholesterol, parameters more frequent men. repeats performed HbA1c) after result that had been reference range. Conclusions Examined repetitions mostly inappropriate. To reduce requests, is analyze causes ensure cooperation specialists clinicians.

The Landscape of Inappropriate Laboratory Testing: A 15-Year Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND Laboratory testing is the single highest-volume medical activity and drives clinical decision-making across medicine. However, the overall landscape of inappropriate testing, which is thought to be dominated by repeat testing, is unclear. Systematic differences in initial vs. repeat testing, measurement criteria, and other factors would suggest new priorities for improving laboratory...
متن کاملAn Analysis of the Repeated Financial Earthquakes
Since the seismic behavior of the earth’s energy (which follows from the power law distribution) can be similarly seen in the energy realized by the stock markets, in this paper we consider a statistical study for comparing the financial crises and the earthquakes. For this end, the TP statistic, proposed by Pisarenko and et al. (2004), is employed for estimating the critical point or the lower...
متن کاملOn repeated difference testing
If the number of assessors in a difference test is not large enough to ensure the desired power of the testing procedure, then it is often advised to use assessors repeatedly. That is, each assessor performs the testing not just once but several times. There is a discussion going on, how results of a repeated difference testing are to be analysed. The present paper (as was to be expected) suppo...
