چکیده

Human activity has led to a rise in the demand for water, prompting Saudi Arabia search alternative groundwater supplies. Wadi As-Sirhan is one area that experienced extensive agricultural growth and severe over-exploitation of its resources. The drawn from wadi should be continuously monitored determine best management options resources economic growth. most recent Gravity Recovery Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission outputs land surface models were combined estimate depletion rate drainage basin northern region throughout period April 2002–December 2021. findings are: (1) average GRACE-derived terrestrial water storage variation (?TWS) was calculated at ?13.82 ± 0.24 mm/yr; (2) soil moisture averaged +0.008 0.004 (3) estimated ?13.81 (4) annual precipitation data over 60 (5) minimal recharge +2.31 mm/yr, which may partially compensate portion withdrawal; (6) sediment thickness shows an increase 0 m southern igneous volcanic rocks more than 3000 close Saudi–Jordanian border; (7) wadi’s eastern, southern, western portions are sources tributaries, ultimately drain into northwestern portion; (8) change detection Landsat photos reveals considerable expansions decades. integrated method useful analyzing changes large reservoirs developing environmentally appropriate programs these

Drought Analysis of Alvand Boundary River Using Remote Sensing Data

Extended abstract 1- Introduction       The study of the behavior of rivers in the arid and dry areas is one of the most important tasks in the country. Because the area has increased the effects of drought due to the sensitivity of the area and rainfall shortage, it causes changes in the flow and sediment regime, water resources, agriculture, and so on. Since plants react more precisely to t...

Downscaling GRACE Remote Sensing Datasets to High-Resolution Groundwater Storage Change Maps of California's Central Valley

NASA’s Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) has already proven to be a powerful data source for regional groundwater assessments in many areas around the world. However, the applicability of GRACE data products to more localized studies and their utility to water management authorities have been constrained by their limited spatial resolution (~200,000 km2). Researchers have begun to...

Investigation of periodic changes of the Oman Sea coastline using remote sensing data and spatial analysis

Extended abstract   1- Introduction Coastal environments are one of the most sensitive environmental systems under the influence of dominant hydrodynamic processes. Coastal changes and evolution are occurring very fast. Coastal areas are now gradually becoming known as severe natural and man-made disturbances, including sea levels rising, coastal erosion and sedimentation, and over-exploitat...

Predicting groundwater level changes using GRACE data

[1] The purpose of this work is to investigate the feasibility of downscaling Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data for predicting groundwater level changes and, thus, enhancing current capability for sustainable water resources management. In many parts of the world, water management decisions are traditionally informed by in situ observation networks which, unfortunat...

Mapping Spatial Variability of Soil Salinity Using Remote Sensing Data and Geostatistical Analysis: A Case of Shadegan, Khuzestan

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil salinity is one of the most important desertification parameters in many parts of the world. Thus, preparing soil salinity maps in macro scales is necessary. Water and soil salinity as one of the contributing parameters in desertification, cause soil and vegetation degradation. Soil salinization represents many negative effects on the earth systems such ...
