چکیده

An overview analysis of the methods calculating retaining walls from driven piles was performed. Analytical calculation in accordance with SNiP 2.02.03–85, taking into account requirements change No. 1 DBN V.2.1-10-2009 on horizontal stiffness and static section using Lira-CAD software complex were considered, a plane cross-section finite element method according to Coulomb-Mohr model Plaxis 2D complex. With population growth expansion cities, need for new residential, commercial industrial buildings increases. Modern urbanization leads an increase density densification buildings. This requires construction multi-story infrastructure ensure efficient use limited land area, areas significant elevation differences, or underground parking lots. Under such conditions, engineers increasingly have solve problems conditions compacted buildings, differences height building site. One most common engineering solutions these is implementation massive soil form bored connected by binding grid. The structures special attention determination initial parameters considered problem choice approach stress-strain state elements pit enclosure base.On example, pile performed geological city Kyiv same different methods. For reliability comparison loading results all three cases, it accepted DSTU NB V.2.1-31:2014. obtained movements at level bottom top analyzed ways, based them, preliminary conclusions formulated prospects further research.

Interpreting Strain Measurements from Load Tests in Bored Piles

In static load tests vibrating wire strain gages are generally used. The advantage of vibrating wire sensors over more conventional electrical resistance or semi-conductor types lies mainly in the sensor output, which is a frequency rather than a voltage or resistance. The frequency output is easier to transmit over long cables and is unaffected by voltage drops such as those which can be broug...

Analysis of Retaining Walls by Numerical Methods - A Literature Review

Present scenario of the engineering practice is indulged in the search of highly developed methods to judge the earth's retaining walls under seismic conditions which are mostly empirical and based on experience rather than the theories. Understanding the nature of earth retaining structures in unstable events caused by natural phenomena is one of the oldest problems in geotechnical engineering...

Finite Element Analysis of Earth Pressures for Narrow Retaining Walls

High traffic demands have led to widening of existing highways to accommodate increased traffic volume. However, due to the high cost of additional right-of-way and limited space available at job sites, construction of earth retaining walls is often done under a constrained space. This leads to retaining walls that are narrower than in design guidelines. This type of walls is referred as “Narro...

Study of Bored Pile Retaining Wall Using Physical Modeling

Abstract—Excavation and retaining walls are of challenging issues in civil engineering. In this study, the behavior of one important type of supporting systems called Contiguous Bored Pile (CBP) retaining wall is investigated using a physical model. Besides, a comparison is made between two modes of free end piles (soft bed) and fixed end piles (stiff bed). Also a back calculation of effective ...

seismic analysis of lateral earth pressure and retaining walls

eart pressure problems are encountered in retaining walls, bulkheads, sheeting and bracing in cuts, culverts, tunnels, and cofferdams. in many cases, the lateral pressure is determined by use of classical earth pressure theories, such as coulomb's, where the equilibrium conditions of a failure wedge of soil is considered. excessive dynamic lateral earth pressure on retaining structures resu...
