Analysis of Double Inverted Flag Energy Harvesting System in Pipe Flow

This technical note numerically and experimentally studies a vibration energy harvester (VEH) consisting of set two parallel elastic steel sheets (ESSs) piezoelectric patches (PZTs) in pipe flow. The roots the are fixed on base with PZTs to form double inverted flag harvesting system (DIF-VEHS). In this note, semi-circular receiving device (receiver) was added free end steel, cylinder installed upstream generate periodic oscillating flow field pipeline obtain better electric generation efficiency. study reveals effect different factors system, such as distance between ESSs, diameter cylinder, etc. uses ANSYS software simulate fluid–structure interaction ESSs determine feasibility design. An experimental setup is then implemented find most effective combination for system. results show that all parameters configured properly, reaches maximum average value 1.6657 V per minute. future, devices could be sewers, pipes or rivers, allowing fluid recycled more energy.
