Analysis of deep borehole heat exchanger with horizontal branch wells for building heating

چکیده

Abstract The development and application of enhanced geothermal system hydrothermal are constrained due to high cost risk induced seismicity or heavily reliance on hot water reservoir. Deep borehole heat exchanger (DBHE) technology is independent reservoir hydraulic fracturing; however, the poor thermal conductivity rocks limits its performance improvement. To deal with these problems, a novel for acquiring energy using DBHE horizontal branch wells (DBHE-HBW) proposed here. It found that DBHE-HBW has better than and, under condition nearly equal total cross-sectional area well tube, smaller tube diameter, greater output shorter payback period DBHE-HBW. Therefore, can be recommended large-scale in building heating sector.

Sensitivity analysis on the performance of a ground source heat pump equipped with a double U-pipe borehole heat exchanger

Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) are economically and environmentally advantageous for the heating and cooling of buildings, provided that the long-term sustainability of the thermal exploitation of the soil is ensured. In particular, the performance of a closed-loop Borehole Heat Exchanger (BHE) strongly depends on the geometrical and physical properties of its components and on the thermo-hydr...

Analysis of Geo-Temperature Restoration Performance under Intermittent Operation of Borehole Heat Exchanger Fields

Intermittent operation can improve the coefficient of performance (COP) of a ground source heat pump (GSHP) system. In this paper, an analytical solution to analyze the geo-temperature restoration performance under intermittent operation of borehole heat exchanger (BHE) fields is established. For this purpose, the moving finite line source model is combined with the g-function and the superposi...

Model-Based Performance Analysis of a Single Borehole in Ground Heat Exchanger

Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) are high efficient HVAC equipment that provide heating and cooling for buildings. The high initial cost of drilling boreholes is one of the main reasons that hinder the widespread application of GSHP. It is very important to develop proper design methods to predict and evaluate the performance of the Ground Heat Exchanger (GHE) throughout its entire life span. In...
