Analysis of Couples’ Discordance on Fertility Desire in Ghana

Generally, men in sub-Saharan Africa make reproductive decisions that affect their partners. We examined the predictors of fertility desires among married across three age cohorts: 20–35 years, 36–50 year, and 51–59 years. Using 2014 Ghana Demographic Health Survey dataset, we conducted ANOVA multivariate binary logistic regressions on 1431 monogamous aged 20–59 Two indicators desire are constructed: (i) comparison men’s ideal versus women’s family size, (ii) for more children. The results indicate is stronger than women. age, parity, religion, contraceptive use, wealth quintile, couples’ difference education.
