چکیده
Michelia crassipes is a great ornamental plant, the flowers of which have high economic value. In this study, we employed headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS–SPME) combined with gas chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry (GC–HRMS) for first time to identify volatile compounds emitted from different organs M. at flowering stages. flower odor comprises 69 that are dominated by terpenes constituting 84% collected volatiles. It was found α-guaiene, β-caryophyllene and germacrene B had highest relative amounts, while ethyl 3-methyl valerate, methyl benzoate β-damascone activity values (OAVs). This contributed complex fruity, woody floral aromas crassipes. Total emission increased along blooming, most abundant in pistil followed tepals stamens. Paraffin sections showed density oil secretory cells full stage, positively correlated total release. The scent characterized terpenes, whereas stamens benzenoids. We suggest benzenoids might contribute pollinator attraction

Volatile Organic Compounds Emissions from Luculia pinceana Flower and Its Changes at Different Stages of Flower Development.
Luculia plants are famed ornamental plants with sweetly fragrant flowers, of which L. pinceana Hooker, found primarily in Yunnan Province, China, has the widest distribution. Solid phase microextraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (SPME-GC-MS) was employed to identify the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from different flower development stages of L. pinceana for the evaluatio...
متن کاملFlower Volatiles, Crop Varieties and Bee Responses
Pollination contributes to an estimated one third of global food production, through both the improvement of the yield and the quality of crops. Volatile compounds emitted by crop flowers mediate plant-pollinator interactions, but differences between crop varieties are still little explored. We investigated whether the visitation of crop flowers is determined by variety-specific flower volatile...
متن کاملAntidiabetic activity of flower buds of Michelia champaca Linn
OBJECTIVE To identify the antihyperglycemic activity of various extracts, petroleum ether (60-80°), chloroform, acetone, ethanol, aqueous and crude aqueous, of the flower buds of Michelia champaca, and to identify the antidiabetic activity of active antihyperglycemic extract. MATERIALS AND METHODS Plant extracts were tested for antihyperglycemic activity in glucose overloaded hyperglycemic ra...
متن کاملFlower formation and pod/flower ratio in canola (Brassica napus L.) affected by assimilates supply around flowering
An alternative means by which to examine the importance of assimilates supply to flower and pod formation is to analyze the relationships of leaf area index (LAI), above-ground dry matter (ADM), leaf area duration (LAD) and crop growth rate (CGR) around flowering with flower number and pod/flower ratio. For this objective, an experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station of Gonbad, ...
متن کاملVolatile Aroma Composition of Chrysanthemum indicum L. Flower Oil
The aroma constituents of Chrysanthemum indicum L. were separated by the hydro distillation extraction method using a Clevenger-type apparatus, and were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The yield of Chrysanthemum indicum L. flower oil was 2.0% (w/w) and the color was light golden yellow. Sixty-three volatile flavor components, which make up 89.28% of the total aroma com...
