Analysis and Modeling of Semi-Open Thermoplastic Honeycomb Core Structures for Mechanical Simulation with Representative Volume Elements

چکیده

Due to the need for alternative materials realization of lightweight structures, analysis sandwich structures that have a semi-open thermoplastic honeycomb core as an internal support structure is great technical and scientific interest. Sandwich components with honeycomb-structured layer between two continuous fiber-reinforced face sheets exhibit maximum weight-specific stiffnesses strengths. The folded cores some characteristic properties not found in conventional due their special production, which causes structure. As result folding process, cell walls honeycombs are joined together direction, would be case, example, glued or expanded honeycombs. This specificity has influence on structural mechanical behavior honeycomb. To characterize material properties, one possibility examine based data obtained by computed tomography method and, building this, analyze these more detail means modeling representative volume element reflects geometry closely possible. aim this approach determine effective parameters can applied simulation using finite method. validation values was carried out results through standardized, mechanical, quasi-static experiments.
