چکیده
The new spaceborne photon-counting lidar, i.e., ICESat-2, has shown great advantages in obtaining nearshore bathymetry at a global scale. forward-scattering effect the water column is one of main error sources airborne lidar (ALB). However, magnitude bathymetric bias for lidars and how can we effectively correct this have not been evaluated are very worthy investigation. In study, on quantitatively modeled analyzed based semi-analytic Monte Carlo simulation method. Meanwhile, an empirical formula correcting forward-scattering-induced specific to ICESat-2 derived. When depth exceeds 20 m, cannot be neglected even clear open ocean waters. two study areas with local situ measurements (St. Thomas Hawaii), deep waters (>20 m) corrected from exceeding 50 cm less than 13 using proposed formula. This valuable evaluate existing also fundamental optimizing hardware parameters possible future lidar.

Today's data-driven society demands high data rates and high-rate communication links. Addressing these needs in everything from gigabit Ethernet network connections and telephone or cable television signals to communication between spacecraft can require high bandwidth, high power, large transmit or receive apertures or both, and high receiver sensitivity. Optical communication is attractive f...

The evolution of lidar, from those early ground-based measurements to our first long-duration spaceborne experiments, is schematically represented in Fig. 13.1. It depicts the first lidars in the 1960s as ground-based, followed by systems first flown in 1969 on small aircraft, and followed in the late 1970s by lidars flown on large aircraft capable of long-range measurements. Starting in 1979, ...
متن کاملAnalysis on Practical Photon Counting Receiver in Optical Scattering Communication
We consider the practical photon-counting receiver in optical scattering communication. In the receiver side, the detected signal can be characterized as discrete photoelectrons, a series of pulses is generated by photon-multiplier (PMT) detector, held by the pulse-holding circuits, sampled in analog-to-digit convertor (ADC) and then be counted by a rising-edge pulse detector. However, the puls...
