چکیده

Abstract
Subclinical mastitis is the most important and costly disease in dairy sector. In this study, it was aimed to compare results of bacteriological examination with those California Mastitis Test (CMT) Somatic Cell Count (SCC)in milk samples collected from Anatolian buffaloes no clinical signs mastitis. For purpose, 96 were 24 each quarter. All examined for presence mastitic pathogens by bacteriology regardless SCC values CMT scores. A total 103 isolates recovered infected quarters. The first three frequently isolated determined be E. coli, S. agalactiae, aureus rate 31.07%, 22.33%, 21.36%, respectively. According results, threshold value accepted as ≥78.000 cells/ml. correlation between SCC, bacteriology, found 0.737, 0.845 0.872, respectively, mean inter-item 0.818. These showed that test highly correlated other. ROC analysis cut-of-value study chosen 78.000 cells/ml supported obtained reliability sensitivity 85% 1-specifity 100%. To sum up, a combination CMT, investigation provides benefits detecting early avoiding misdiagnosis, allowing timely action treatment.

Direct and indirect measurement of somatic cell count as indicator of intramammary infection in dairy goats

BACKGROUND Mastitis is the most important and costly disease in dairy goat production. Subclinical mastitis is common in goats and is mainly caused by contagious bacteria. Several methods to diagnose subclinical mastitis are available. In this study indirect measurement of somatic cell count (SCC) by California Mastitis Test (CMT) and direct measurement of SCC using a portable deLaval cell coun...

Sensitivity and specificity of infrared thermography in detection of subclinical mastitis in dairy cows.

The objectives of this experiment were to determine interrelationships among mastitis indicators and evaluate the subclinical mastitis detection ability of infrared thermography (IRT) in comparison with the California Mastitis Test (CMT). Somatic cell count (SCC), CMT, and udder skin surface temperature (USST) data were compiled from 62 Brown Swiss dairy cows (days in milk=117+/-51, milk yield=...

The use of Na+ and K+ ion concentrations as potential diagnostic indicators of subclinical mastitis in dairy cows

Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate the concentrations of sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+) ions in milk of lactating dairy cows with and without subclinical mastitis as putative indicators for detecting subclinical mastitis in dairy cows. Materials and Methods: Thirty seven lactating dairy cows were screened for the evidence of subclinical mastitis using California mastitis test (CMT). The...

The effect of subclinical mastitis on milk composition in dairy cows

Milk samples were collected from quarters of 35 cows with subclinical mastitis (California mastitis test [CMT] positive and somatic cell counts [SCC] >500,000 cells/ml in individual quarter foremilk), as well as from 37 healthy controls. Compared to the levels observed in milk from healthy quarters, milk from quarters with subclinical mastitis showed elevated sodium (91.97 vs 52.93 mg/dl), chlo...
