Abstract Northern Italy is an area particularly suitable for the cultivation of different crops. It used to be characterized by a high agrobiodiversity. However, it estimated that over last decades, this experienced genetic erosion more than 90%, resulting in loss many traditional plant resources (PGR). Nevertheless, recent surveys found unexpectedly agrobiodiversity which remains.
