AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY TO ASSESS THE ADVERSE DRUG REACTION OF ANTI-ASTHMATIC DRUGS AMONG ADULTS IN WESTERN RAJASTHAN

Background: Asthma is one of the most common chronic illness worldwide. For prevention exacerbations, patients bronchial asthma are kept on long-term treatment that why they amenable for adverse drug reactions (ADRs). The study was planned to monitor ADRs with intervention anti-asthmatic drugs in adults visited medicine outpatient or admitted inpatient department a tertiary care teaching hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional conducted among 340 collaboration Department Medicine duration 12 months. Information collected help semi-structured case record form along interventions given were also recorded. Results: Data analysis done SPSS version20.0. Fisher exact test applied. total enrolled study. highest numbers observed Salbutamol (34.78%). noted Beta2 agonists class drugs. main headache followed by tremors and oral thrush. Statistically significant association found between presence severity asthma. Conclusion: Identifying any possible connection presenting complaint used crucial reduce risk future. Appropriate monitoring key this. Reduction will improve compliance patient ultimately their clinical outcome.
