چکیده
mRNA degradation rate is one of the key stages gene expression regulation in eukaryotic cells. To date, intertwined processes post-transcriptional control have been widely investigated, but focused rather on examination mechanisms controlling stability particular protein-coding transcripts. Currently, a wealth information from structural, biochemical, and high-throughput studies makes it tempting to define general rules governing that could be considered as versatile valid genome-wide scale. Basu et al. analyzed multiple experimental computational data Saccharomyces cerevisiae half-lives well secondary structures protein-binding sites within transcripts, collated with available ribonucleases, is, enzymes responsible for degradation. This approach allowed conclude how features such lengths unstructured terminal or internal regions sequestration into ribonucleoprotein complexes impact transcripts genome-scale principles yeast.

Specific and global regulation of mRNA stability during osmotic stress in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Hyperosmotic stress yields reprogramming of gene expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells. Most of this response is orchestrated by Hog1, a stress-activated, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) homologous to human p38. We investigated, on a genomic scale, the contribution of changes in transcription rates and mRNA stabilities to the modulation of mRNA amounts during the response to osmo...
متن کاملRespiratory deficiency mediates the regulation of CHO1-encoded phosphatidylserine synthase by mRNA stability in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The CHO1-encoded phosphatidylserine synthase (CDP-diacylglycerol:l-serine O-phosphatidyltransferase, EC 2.7.8.8) is one of the most highly regulated phospholipid biosynthetic enzymes in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. CHO1 expression is regulated by nutrient availability through a regulatory circuit involving a UAS(INO) cis-acting element in the CHO1 promoter, the positive transcription fac...
متن کاملEmotion Regulation in Depression: An Integrative Review
Objective: In recent years, there has been a rising interest in cognitive behavioral research to explore the role of emotion regulation in the development and maintenance of mental disorders and resiliency against or recovery from them. Particularly, different strategies people use to regulate their emotions may have more important role in emotional disorders including depression. The aim of th...
متن کاملUnbiased selection of localization elements reveals cis-acting determinants of mRNA bud localization in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Cytoplasmic mRNA localization is a mechanism used by many organisms to generate asymmetry and sequester protein activity. In the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, mRNA transport to bud tips of dividing cells is mediated by the binding of She2p, She3p, and Myo4p to coding regions of the RNA. To date, 24 bud-localized mRNAs have been identified, yet the RNA determinants that mediate localization re...
متن کاملContribution of Trf4/5 and the nuclear exosome to genome stability through regulation of histone mRNA levels in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Balanced levels of histones are crucial for chromosome stability, and one major component of this control regulates histone mRNA amounts. The Saccharomyces cerevisiae poly(A) polymerases Trf4 and Trf5 are involved in a quality control mechanism that mediates polyadenylation and consequent degradation of various RNA species by the nuclear exosome. None of the known RNA targets, however, explains...
