Due to ever increasing performance requirements, model-based optimization and control strategies are increasingly being adopted by machine builders automotive companies. However, this demands an increase in modelling effort a growing knowledge of techniques, as sufficient level detail is required order evaluate certain characteristics. Modelling tools such MATLAB Simscape have been created reduce effort, allowing for greater model complexity fidelity. Unfortunately, tool cannot be used with high-performance gradient-based algorithms due obfuscation the underlying equations. In work, toolchain presented that efficiently interfaces user necessary skill computation time high-fidelity drivetrain models. The illustrated on industrially relevant conjugate cam-follower system, which modelled environment validated respect higher-fidelity modeling technique, namely, finite element method (FEM).
