An historical building information modelling approach for the preventive conservation of historical constructions: Application to the Historical Library of Salamanca

This work presents an approach for the preventive conservation of historical constructions by means Historical Building Information Modelling (HBIM) strategies. To this end, methodology exploits latest advances in inspection protocols, digitalization tools -by novel back-pack mapping systems- as well wireless monitoring networks. All information is integrated HBIM environment using ad-hoc families and interoperable communication protocols that allow obtaining a complete knowledge status site. Additionally, uses key performance indicators order to evaluate environmental conditions different assets presented these features have been validated one most representative heritage buildings Spain: The General Library University Salamanca.
