An HI intensity mapping survey with a Phased Array Feed

Abstract We report results from a neutral hydrogen (H i ) intensity mapping survey conducted with Phased Array Feed (PAF) on the Parkes telescope. The was designed to cover ? 380 deg 2 over redshift range 0.3 < z 1 (a volume of 1.5 Gpc 3 in four fields covered by WiggleZ Dark Energy Survey. presented here target narrow 0.73 0.78 where effect radio frequency interference (RFI) less problematic. data reduction and simulation pipeline described, an emphasis flagging RFI correction for signal loss process, particularly due foreground subtraction methodology. A cross-correlation detected between H maps data, mean amplitude ?? T b ? opt ? = 1.32 ± 0.42 mK (statistical errors only). future cryogenic PAF is expected detect higher accuracy than previously possible allow measurement cosmic density at redshifts up unity.
