چکیده
Abstract. The present research establishes a two-step strategy to incorporate classical elastoplastic constitutive model into ordinary state-based peridynamics (OSB-PD) for ductile fracture analysis. Three length levels are notified, respectively, bond level, material particle level and bulk level. unified Bodner-Partom theory is incorporated the OSB-PD framework define bond-wise relationship between deformation state force state. Particle-wise variables indicating plastic extracted from connecting bonds establish damage at indicator in turn exerts effects on following deformation. At study, collaboration among PD theories amplifies theoretical unity of defining behaviors. Simulations under quasi-static impact loading conditions carried out demonstrate effectiveness reproducing fractures

Modelling of Granular Fracture in Polycrystalline Materials Using Ordinary State-Based Peridynamics
An ordinary state-based peridynamic formulation is developed to analyse cubic polycrystalline materials for the first time in the literature. This new approach has the advantage that no constraint condition is imposed on material constants as opposed to bond-based peridynamic theory. The formulation is validated by first considering static analyses and comparing the displacement fields obtained...
متن کاملA non-ordinary peridynamics implementation for anisotropic materials
Peridynamics (PD) represents a new approach for modelling fracture mechanics, where a continuum domain is modelled through particles connected via physical bonds. This formulation allows us to model crack initiation, propagation, branching and coalescence without special assumptions. Up to date, anisotropic materials were modelled in the PD framework as different isotropic materials (for instan...
متن کاملMesoscale Fracture Analysis of Multiphase Cementitious Composites Using Peridynamics
Concrete is a complex heterogeneous material, and thus, it is important to develop numerical modeling methods to enhance the prediction accuracy of the fracture mechanism. In this study, a two-dimensional mesoscale model is developed using a non-ordinary state-based peridynamic (NOSBPD) method. Fracture in a concrete cube specimen subjected to pure tension is studied. The presence of heterogene...
متن کاملPeridynamics, Fracture, and Nonlocal Continuum Models
Most physical processes are the result of collective interactions across disparate length and time scales. The dynamic fracture of brittle solids is a particularly interesting collective interaction connecting large and small length scales. With the application of enough stress or strain to a sample of brittle material, atomistic-scale bonds will eventually snap, leading to fracture of the macr...
متن کاملA finite thickness band method for ductile fracture analysis
We present a finite element method with a finite thickness embedded weak discontinuity to analyze ductile fracture problems. The formulation is restricted to small geometry changes. The material response is characterized by a constitutive relation for a progressively cavitating elastic–plastic solid. As voids nucleate, grow and coalesce, the stiffness of the material degrades. An embedded weak ...
