An Exploratory Study of Direct Injection (DI) Diesel Engine Performance Using CNSL—Ethanol Biodiesel Blends with Hydrogen

The emissions from direct injection (DI) diesel engines remain a serious setback the viewpoint of environmental pollution, especially for those who have been persuaded to use biofuel as an alternative fuel. main drawbacks using biofuels and their mixtures in DI are increased decreased brake thermal efficiency (BTE) compared neat current study analyses biodiesel made cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) single-cylinder, direct-injection engine validate engine’s performance discharge characteristics. In addition improved CNSL twin-fuel that runs on hydrogen, ethanol was added fuel at rates 5%, 10%, 15%. investigation conducted single-cylinder steady-state settings, above sustained speed (1500 RPM). Several parameters pollutant emissions, such hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOX) were tracked during this study. According experimental findings, mixture’s heat reduced by 26.79% comparison brake-specific consumption (BSFC) declined with hydrogen mixture. An increase BTE increasing concentrations blend observed. best blends CNSL–hydrogen perceptibly exhaust gas temperature NOX while also producing fewest HC CO emissions. research acts novel paradigm makes it possible comprehend exergy related mass or energy exchanges by-product thermodynamic quality quantity.
