An experimental study on ballistic impact response of jute reinforced polyethylene glycol and nano silica based shear thickening fluid composite

The present study aims at assessing the ballistic impact behaviour of jute reinforced polyethylene glycol (PEG) and nano silica based shear thickening fluid (STF). Preparation STF is achieved by dispersing particles different weight percentage loadings 10%, 20%, 30% 40% in PEG effect various percentages loading on performance proposed composites studied experimentally. Rheological studies prepared STF’s showed that all nanosilica occurred also was highest higher lower rate shear. reveals fabric enhanced with impregnation STF. results indicate energy absorption increased same time, reduced. Specific (SEA) neat made use for purpose comparing capabilities. It found SEA 10% lesser than both case 3 layers 6 layers. composite exhibits compared to its counterparts being 3.21 3.76 times three six fabrics respectively.
