چکیده
Recently, studies have been carried out using environmentally sustainable technologies with more efficient energy conversion to fulfill emission requirements. One of these technologies, reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI), is a low-temperature combustion mode and has dual fuel strategy. The controllability combustion, high thermal efficiency low nitrogen oxide (NOx) soot emissions are some the most prominent advantages this mode. In study, effects premixed ratio (PR) intake air temperature (IAT) on operating range, characteristics were investigated experimentally. experiments, iso-propanol n-heptane used as fuels. experiments for two different case studies. first case, performed at 50 °C three premix ratios (PR25, PR50, PR75). minimum brake-specific consumption (BSFC) was 268 g/kWh widest range obtained PR25. addition, lowest values in NOx, hydrocarbon (HC) carbon monoxide (CO) formation recorded use PR25 fuel. other conducted temperatures (30 °C, 70 °C) PR50. BSFC measured observed temperature. At same time, NOx 30 maximum HC determined 586 ppm CO 0.142% by volume

An Experimental Investigation of Spark Ignition Engine Fueled with Ethanol/Iso-octane and Methanol/Iso-octane Fuel Blends
Alcohols have been used as a fuel for engines since 19th century. Among the various alcohols, ethanol and methanol are known as the most suited renewable, bio-based and ecofriendly fuel for spark-ignition (SI) engines. The most attractive properties of ethanol and methanol as an SI engine fuel are that it can be produced from renewable energy sources such as sugar, cane, cassava, many types ...
متن کاملTheoretical and Experimental Analysis of OM314 Diesel Engine Combustion and Performance Characteristics Fueled with DME
Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) combustion is a pioneer method of combustion in which pre-mixed fuel and oxidizer (typically air) are compressed to the point of auto-ignition. HCCI engines can operate with most alternative fuels, especially, dimethyl ether (DME) which has been tested as a possible diesel fuel due to its simultaneously low NOx and PM emissions. In this paper a ...
متن کاملIgnition delay, combustion and emission characteristics of diesel engine fueled with biodiesel
Biodiesels are gaining more importance as a promising alternative energy resource. Engine performance and emission characteristics of unmodified biodiesel fueled diesel engines are highly influenced by its ignition and combustion behavior. This review article presents the literature review on ignition delay (ID), combustion and emission characteristics of biodiesel fueled diesel engine. More th...
متن کاملReformer Gas Application in Combustion Onset Control of HCCI Engine
Homogenous charge compression ignition (HCCI) combustion is spontaneous multi-site combustion of a nominally premixed air/fuel mixture that exhibits high rate of pressure rise and short combustion duration. To avoid excessive pressure rise rate and knocking, HCCI engines are fueled with highly diluted mixture using a combination of excess air and/or EGR. HCCI combustion is attractive due to ...
