An Experimental Framework of Particulate Matter Emission Factor Development for Traffic Modeling
نویسندگان
چکیده
To estimate traffic facility-oriented particulate matter (PM) emissions, emission factors are both necessary and critical for planners the community of professionals. This study used locally calibrated laser-scattering sensors to collect PM concentrations in a tunnel. Emission light-duty heavy-duty vehicles were found be higher autumn compared summer. Based on this study’s data analysis, terms mass, have strong seasonal effect. The also conducted composition test normal days during haze events. Preliminary results suggested that transformation gaseous tailpipe emissions is significant within tunnel event. study, therefore, recommends portable devices monitor mobile-source emissions. suggests factor estimation modeling packages should consider dynamic formation mechanism. presents policy implications regarding control.

an emission factor is a tool that is used to estimate air pollutant emissions to the atmosphere. it relates the quantity of pollutants released from a source to some activities associated with those emissions. to determine the quantity of pollutant released from copper and its alloys smelting furnaces, 63 samples from emission gases were collected on cellulose ester membrane filters in three 8-...
متن کاملA Preliminary Particulate Matter Emission Factor from Cotton Harvesting
Particulate matter (PM) sampling of cotton harvesting operations at three locations in Texas was conducted during the summer of 2006. PM emissions generated by a two-row (John Deere model 9910) and six-row (John Deere model 9996) cotton picker were measured at each sampling location. The PM emissions from the two-row and sixrow machines were measured using a protocol employing collocated low vo...
متن کاملParticulate Matter Emission Factors for Biomass Combustion
Emission factor is a relative measure and can be used to estimate emissions from multiple sources of air pollution. For this reason, data from literature on particulate matter emission factors from different types of biomass were evaluated in this paper. Initially, the main sources of particles were described, as well as relevant concepts associated with particle measurements. In addition, arti...
