چکیده
Objective: The definite cause of overactive bladder (OAB), which negatively affects the quality life patients, is unknown. This study aims to provide evidence for inflammatory process in patients with OAB whose etiology has not been fully elucidated. Material and Methods: included 154 people diagnosis 131 as controls. was conducted retrospectively, cross-sectionally between April 2015 2020. data were recorded at first meeting by an expert on this subject. Groups compared terms CRP ESR measured serum. Statistical analysis used chi-square test, independent samples t-test, Mann-Whitney U Pearson Spearman correlation analyses. P<0.05 accepted statistical significance. Results: There no differences groups comorbid diseases. significant identified age BMI (p<0.005). When are according levels, values 0.28 [0.54] group 0.17 [0.22] mg/dl control (p=0.047). distribution 19 [30.5] 12.5 [13] mm/h, respectively (p=0.004). Conclusion: provides new literature showing relationship process. It determined that levels increased group. These results show us there onset disease. Keywords: inflammation, bladder,

C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate: Continuing role for erythrocyte sedimentation rate
Background: Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) tests are often done to detect or monitor patients with suspected inflammatory disorders. The objective of the study was to ascertain if the manual ESR test added value to the information available from automated CRP results alone. Methods: In this retrospective, observational study at a safety-net hospital, the ESR a...
متن کاملRelationship between erythrocyte sedimentation rate and serum C-reactive protein in rheumatoid arthritis.
Serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) were compared in 241 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). There was a positive linear correlation between the 2 measurements with a high degree of variability. Neither age nor duration of RA had a detectable influence. The relationship between CRP and ESR was, however, altered by treatment with gold, penicillamine, ...
متن کاملC-Reactive Protein and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate in Orthopaedics
C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) are known as acute phase proteins, which reflect a measure of the acute-phase response. The term “acute phase” refers to local and systemic events that accompany inflammation. Local responses include vasodilation, platelet aggregation, neutrophil chemotaxis, and release of lysosomal enzymes. Systemic responses include fever, leuk...
متن کاملC-Reactive Protein, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate and Orthopedic Implant Infection
BACKGROUND C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) have been shown to be useful for diagnosis of prosthetic hip and knee infection. Little information is available on CRP and ESR in patients undergoing revision or resection of shoulder arthroplasties or spine implants. METHODS/RESULTS We analyzed preoperative CRP and ESR in 636 subjects who underwent knee (n=297), hi...
متن کاملCan we consider erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein as a severity index in pemphigus vulgaris?
Background: Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) are 2 inflammatory indicators that increase in many pathologic and physiologic conditions. Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is an autoimmune skin disease in which autoantibodies against desmogleins cause acantholysis. In this study we have measured ESR and CRP levels in patients with PV to evaluate the relationship between an ...
