چکیده

Infected thoracic aneurysms are a rare and potentially life-threatening condition that present with non-specific symptoms. We describe here case of an 83-year-old female who presented to the emergency department chief complaint vomiting blood. The patient had 40 days earlier abdominal pain, fever, leukocytosis. She medical history traumatic liver injury resulting in bile duct stenosis, necessitating percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage subsequent duct-jejunal anastomosis 25 years ago. Emergency contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) revealed irregular distal arch aneurysm. According patient’s symptoms, CT findings, history, infected aneurysm was suspected. Total replacement performed promptly, followed by thorough antibiotic therapy. Following successful treatment, stabilized, she transferred rehabilitation facility for further recovery.

Hemoptysis as a presenting symptom of a distal aortic arch aneurysm and its repair via an L-shaped thoracotomy.

A 61-year-old man presented with multiple episodes of hemoptysis. A computed tomography scan revealed a 70-mm saccular aneurysm of the distal aortic arch. During a surgical repair via a midline sternotomy and a left thoracotomy, a saccular aneurysm was found to protrude into the lung, which had chronically healed. The patient underwent replacement of the Dacron graft, and he recovered well post...

Total arch replacement using antegrade cerebral perfusion for distal aortic arch aneurysm.

Total aortic arch replacement remains a complex surgical procedure, best practiced in high-volume aortic centers. The following report details the surgical procedure for total arch replacement with selective antegrade cerebral perfusion (SACP) for distal arch aneurysm. Following moderate hypothermic circulatory arrest and SACP, the distal arch, and then the proximal arch, is reconstructed, foll...

Successful Treatment of a Ruptured Subclavian Artery Aneurysm Presenting as Hemoptysis with a Covered Stent

An aneurysm of the subclavian artery is rare. Recently, we experienced a case of a ruptured subclavian artery aneurysm presenting as hemoptysis. The patient had experienced atypical chest discomfort, and computed tomography (CT) revealed a small aneurysm of the left subclavian artery (SCA). Hemoptysis occurred 2 weeks later. Follow-up CT showed a ruptured aneurysm at the proximal left SCA. Endo...

Successful surgical treatment of acute type A aortic dissection complicated with distal arch aneurysm.

We report successful surgical treatment in a case of acute type A aortic dissection complicated with distal arch aneurysm. A 74-year-old man presenting with sudden posterior headache was found by enhanced computed tomography to have an ascending aortic dissection (type A) and a distal arch aneurysm of 69 mm in maximal minor axis diameter. We performed total arch replacement, employing a four-br...

Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/magnetic resonance angiography did not demonstrate any abnormities. However, he experienced another two same episodes before discharge. Further, head and neck computed tomography angiography (CTA) showed ...
