William Henry Bartlett, bir ?ngiliz illüstratör ve ressamd?r. Londra'n?n kuzeybat?s?nda Kentish Town'da, Camden’da do?mu?tur. 19. yüzy?lda ya?am??t?r. Çal??mam?zda kullan?lan gravür resimlerini yapmas?n?n sebebi ?air, ara?t?rmac? gezgin Julia Pardoe’nun kitab? ile ilgilidir. Kentin birinci elden bilgisini deneyimlemi?tir. Kitaptaki gravürler, bugün hala hayatta olan ?stanbul'dan pek çok yeri göstermektedir. Bu gravürler oldukça ilginçtir. Bartlett’in gravürleri Bat? dünyas?nda ?stanbul Bo?az’a kar?? büyük merak uyand?rm??t?r. kitab?nda anlatt??? ?stanbul'da yapt??? baz? gravürlerini bu kitapla tan?tm??t?r.
