An analytical formulation for soliton-potential dynamics
An analytical model for the soliton-potential interaction is presented, by constructing a collective coordinate for the system. Most of the characters of the interaction are derived analytically while they are calculated by other models numerically. We find that the behaviour of the soliton is like a point particle ’living’ under the influence of a complicated potential, that is a function of s...
متن کاملAn Analytical Formulation of Power System Oscillation Frequency
This letter proposes an analytical approach to formulate the power system oscillation frequency under a large disturbance. A fact is revealed that the oscillation frequency is only the function of the oscillation amplitude when the system’s model and operating condition are fixed. Case studies also show that this function is damping-insensitive and could be applied to an inter-area model of a m...
متن کاملAnalytical formulation of the fractal dimension of filtered stochastic signals
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of a linear filter on the regularity of a given stochastic process in terms of the fractal dimension. This general approach, described in a continuous time domain, is new and is characterized by its simplicity. The framework of this problem is general since it emerges when a fractal process undertakes a transformation, as is the case in denoi...
متن کاملAnalytical Formulation of Hybrid-Trefftz Thick Plate Elements
This paper discusses a domain-based formulation for hybrid-Trefftz thick plate elements. The formulation can be applied to triangular and quadrilateral elements, and enables an analytical formulation of these elements to be used. Techniques for improving the computational efficiency are explored, and a simple and accurate triangular element is formulated in this manner.
متن کاملToward a New Simple Analytical Formulation of Navier-Stokes Equations
Incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are reviewed in this work. Three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations are solved analytically. The Mathematical derivation shows that the solutions for the zero and constant pressure gradients are similar. Descriptions of the proposed formulation and validation against two laminar experiments and three different turbulent flow cases are reported in this pap...
