ELECT A new two-dimensional oscillator array-based injection-locked frequency divider is proposed. Instead of using the conventional analogue tuning technique or the one-dimensional delay chain, a two-dimensional array is implemented to digitally and precisely control the total delay in the oscillator core. This makes it possible to achieve a programmable delay, hence attaining potential progra...

We consider a model for a resonant injection-locked frequency divider, and study analytically the locking onto rational multiples of the driving frequency. We provide explicit formulae for the width of the plateaux appearing in the devil’s staircase structure of the lockings, and in particular show that the largest plateaux correspond to even integer values for the ratio of the frequency of the...

An ultra-wide locking range transformer-based injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD) is presented. By making use of a 4-order transformer-based resonator and an inductive gain peaking technique, the proposed ILFD can achieve high performance in terms of wide locking range and low power consumption. Fabricated in a standard 65nm CMOS process with a core area of 0.18mm, the ILFD measures a loc...

متن کاملA 90-nm CMOS 144 GHz Injection Locked Frequency Divider with Inductive Feedback
This paper presents a 144 GHz divide-by-2 injection locked frequency divider (ILFD) with inductive feedback developed in a commercial 90-nm Si RFCMOS technology. It was demonstrated that division-by-2 operation is achieved with input power down to -12 dBm, with measured locking range of 0.96 GHz (144.18 – 145.14 GHz) at input power of -3 dBm. To the authors’ best knowledge, this is the highest ...
