Four new Fusarium species from Fusarium solani species complex isolated from soil
One hundred isolates of Fusarium solani species complex were isolated and identified from 58 agricultural soil samples collected from different geographical regions in Kermanshah, Hamadan and Kurdistan provinces of Iran. Based on morphological characteristics, Fusarium falciforme, F. petroliphilum, F. keratoplasticum and F. pseudensiforme, are reported for the first time from Iran.
متن کاملDetection of Streptococcus pneumoniae in lower respiratory tract specimens by anaerobic culture technique.
The relative efficacy of aerobic and anaerobic culture techniques for the recovery of Streptococcus pneumoniae from 1,173 lower respiratory tract specimens was determined. Unlike previous studies, this investigation found no significant difference between the two techniques.

متن کاملCloning of Minor Autolysin of Streptococcus Pneumoniae
Abstract Background and Objective: Increased antibiotic resistant strains and inadequacy of current vaccines against pneumococcal infections necessitate the study of novel protein antigens. It seems that minor autolysin of Streptococcus pneumoniae may have antigenicity. Thus, we aimed at cloning its gene for the first time. Material and Methods: After DNA extraction of Streptococcus pneumoniae ...
متن کاملExtensive diversity of ionizing-radiation-resistant bacteria recovered from Sonoran Desert soil and description of nine new species of the genus Deinococcus obtained from a single soil sample.
The ionizing-radiation-resistant fractions of two soil bacterial communities were investigated by exposing an arid soil from the Sonoran Desert and a nonarid soil from a Louisiana forest to various doses of ionizing radiation using a (60)Co source. The numbers of surviving bacteria decreased as the dose of gamma radiation to which the soils were exposed increased. Bacterial isolates surviving d...
