چکیده

Hydrogen production using renewable energy is regarded as a key technology to achieve sustainable society. But hydrogen has low volumetric density and it’s difficult storage transport. Therefore, ammonia normally produced by the Haber-Bosch process with nitrogen attracts much attention carrier. Although toxic, it risk because we can detect immediately due its characteristic smell when leaks. So, direct fuel cell (DAFC) that directly generates electricity from expected be new power generation system. Pt used an anode catalyst for oxidation reaction in DAFC, but alternative one required expensive deactivated adsorbed N species. In this study, focused on alloy anodes. We chose Al, Cu Ni alloying elements. have discovered improvement of activity other Especially, Pt-11.6at.%Al showed highest current, 7.33 mA cm-2, will attractive candidate DAFC.

The electro-oxidation of formate ions at a polycrystalline Pt electrode in alkaline solution: an in situ FTIR study.

This paper reports in situ FTIR studies on the oxidation of formate at polycrystalline Pt in aqueous KOH. Data are presented which show that hydroxyl species play a major role in the electro-oxidation of small organic molecules under alkaline conditions at polycrystalline Pt, and that a number of possible mechanistic pathways are possible. Small changes in experimental conditions appear to be a...

Oxidation of chlorophenols on Pt electrode in alkaline solution studied by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic electrolysis, and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry*

Potentiodynamic investigations on a platinum electrode show that oxidation of phenol, monochlorophenols, dichlorophenols, 2,3,6-, 2,4,5-, 2,4,6-trichlorophenols, and pentachlorophenol in 1 M NaOH solution, containing 1 mM of phenols, proceeds in the potential region of Pt oxide formation. The oxidation rate of phenols decreases with the increase in the number of chlorine atoms in the benzene ri...

A strategy for degradation of 2,5-dichlorophenol using its photoelectrocatalytic oxidation on the TiO2/Ti thin film electrode

In this work, the photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) degradation of 2,5-dichlorophenol can be used for its removal from aqueous solution. To study this activity, a TiO2 thin film modified titanium sheet (TiO2/Ti) was fabricated by anodizing Ti plates using a two electrode system under the constant bias voltage of 20 V for 20 min in a solution of 0.2% (v/v) HF followed by calcinat...

Mechanism of CO oxidation on Pt(111) in alkaline media.

Electrochemical techniques, coupled with in situ scanning tunneling microscopy, have been used to examine the mechanism of CO oxidation and the role of surface structure in promoting CO oxidation on well-ordered and disordered Pt(111) in aqueous NaOH solutions. Oxidation of CO occurs in two distinct potential regions: the prepeak (0.25-0.70 V) and the main peak (0.70 V and higher). The mechanis...

Electrocatalytic oxidation of formaldehyde onto Pt nanoparticles modified poly (m-toluidine)/Triton X-100 film

In this work, spherical Pt nanometer-scale particles supported on the poly (m-toluidine)/Triton X-100 film modified carbon nanotube paste electrode (Pt/PMT (TX-100)/MCNTPE) was used as a potent catalyst for electrooxidation of formaldehyde (HCHO) in both 0.5 M H2SO4 and 0.1 M NaOH solutions. The obtained results showed that utilization of TX-100 as an additive during the electropolymerization p...
