Ammonia emission from sandy loam soil amended with manure compost and urea

چکیده

Abstract Urea is a renowned nitrogen (N) fertilizer widely used in plant N nutrition owing to its high concentration (46%). The effect of the application rate on ammonia (NH 3 ) emission into environment and soil properties yet be unraveled. NH from sandy loam amended with manure compost (T1: 5000 kg ha −1 urea at different rates (100, 200, 400 designated as T2, T3, T4, respectively) replications was evaluated an incubation experiment. Ammonia rapid early stage experiment followed by equilibrium decrease that tends toward zero end incubation. emissions 16.50, 52.15, 75% applied T4 were observed day 49. increased linearly (y = 0.7823x−32.169, R 2 0.95**) response rates. T1 conserves more 4 + (20.79 mg soil, T2 (11.8 T3 (11.7 ). reduced pH optimal for microbial activities nutrient availability, while promoted acidity. A balanced combination mitigates volatilization improves fertility. In conclusion, applying (5000 100 or 200 recommended mitigation, nitrification inhibition, efficient retention soil.

Fate of manure phosphorus in a weathered sandy clay loam soil amended with three animal manures.

Laboratory incubation was conducted for 120 days to study the fate of phosphorus in poultry (PM), cattle (CM) and goat manures (GM). Phosphorus mineralized from manure was dependent on total P, Al and Fe content. Manures improved P availability in the order: PM>CM>GM; however, the highest amount of P was fixed or immobilized between 10 and 70 days of incubating with CM and GM. Fixation and immo...

Quantifying hysteresis of atrazine desorption from a sandy loam soil.

Batch experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of initial atrazine concentrations and consecutive desorption steps on the desorption characteristics of atrazine from a sandy loam soil. As initial atrazine concentration increased, the average percentage of atrazine desorption on the sandy loam soil ranged gradually from 23.1% to 38.5% after five consecutive desorption steps. The v...

Gas entrapment and microbial N2O reduction reduce N2O emissions from a biochar-amended sandy clay loam soil

Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a potent greenhouse gas that is produced during microbial nitrogen transformation processes such as nitrification and denitrification. Soils represent the largest sources of N2O emissions with nitrogen fertilizer application being the main driver of rising atmospheric N2O concentrations. Soil biochar amendment has been proposed as a promising tool to mitigate N2O emission...

Effect of poultry diet on phosphorus in runoff from soils amended with poultry manure and compost.

Phosphorus in runoff from fields where poultry litter is surface-applied is an environmental concern. We investigated the effect of adding phytase and reducing supplemental P in poultry diets and composting poultry manures, with and without Fe and Al amendments, on P in manures, composts, and runoff. We used four diets: normal (no phytase) with 0.4% supplemental P, normal + phytase, phytase + 0...

Nitrous Oxide Loss from Poultry Manure-Amended Soil after Rain

Land application of poultry wastes in Kentucky will increase as the broiler industry grows. If poultry manure stimulates N2O loss from soil it will reduce the fertilizer N value of this waste. In contrast, stimulated NjO loss in grass filter strips receiving the runoff from manured fields could help reduce contamination of surface water by NOf. Our objectives were to determine (i) if poultry ma...
