Amination of Polymeric Braid Structures to Improve Tendon Healing: An Experimental Comparison

چکیده

Several polymers are researched for tendon repair as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polylactic acid (PLA). These biocompatible useful in scaffolding though with minimal success due to long-term failure. There is a need improve such scaffolds' design physical–chemical nature. This work concerns surface functionalization of polymeric braids (PET PLA) that fulfill the high mechanical demands tissues tendons. The aims incorporate amine groups braids' surface, cell adhesion, consequently, poor healing rate these biointegration braids. Two approaches compared: direct application NH3 plasma grafting EDA after O2 activation. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) shows effectively introduced onto samples' surfaces. Besides, parameters chosen do not compromise topography tensile behavior Resazurin assay scanning electron microscopy show treatment improves cell–biomaterial interaction improved adhesion proliferation observed. Both safe biomedical applications. approach more environmentally friendly, faster, easier scale-up, showing potential final hybrid medical device.

Adipose derived stromal vascular fraction improves early tendon healing: an experimental study in rabbits

Tendon never restores the complete biological and mechanical properties after healing. Bone marrow and recently adipose tissue have been used as the sources of mesenchymal stem cells, which have been proven to enhance tendon healing. Stromal vascular fraction (SVF), derived from adipose tissue by an enzymatic digestion, represents an alternative source of multipotent cells, which undergo differ...

Propolis has no effect on tendon healing: an experimental study

Tendon healing remains a slow process due to less blood supply compared to many other tissues. In previous studies, propolis was shown to modify collagen types I and III accumulation at wound healing site and positively affected wound healing however, no study has shown the effects of propolis on tendon healing. We aimed to investigate the effect of propolis on tendon healing. Twenty eight male...

to tendon healing

Tendons are often subject to age related degenerative changes that coincide with a diminished regenerative capacity. Torn tendons often heal by forming scar tissue that is structurally weaker than healthy native tendon tissue, predisposing to mechanical failure. There is increasing interest in providing biological stimuli to increase the tendon reparative response. Stem cells in particular are ...

Antioxidant Properties of Pistacia khinjuk Accelerate Healing of the Experimental Achilles Tendon Injury in Rabbits

Background: Delayed tendon healing and tendon adhesions are still found to be among the complications that occur most often after tendon repair. Pistacia khinjuk is one of the three species of Pistacia growing in Iran. Objective: In this study, the role of local injection of ethanolic extract of P. khinjuk was evaluated in healing of the experimental Achilles tendon injury in rabbits. Metho...
