Alteration of indicator gut microbiota in patients with chronic sinusitis

چکیده
Abstract Background Many factors influence the composition of sinus microflora. The microbial balance is most disturbed by use antibacterial agents. Superinfections caused more than one pathogen may then occur. Despite treatment, including surgery and long‐term antibiotic therapy, many patients with sinusitis do not experience significant relief from their symptoms. It has been hypothesized that an imbalance in gut microbiota also be responsible for chronicity sinusitis. Our goal was therefore to identify selected indicator bacteria play a role immunity chronic In addition, compare number two groups patients: rhinosinusitis (CRS) concomitant diseases and/or symptoms other CRS. Results Significantly decreased numbers Bifidobacterium spp. Faecalibacterium prauznitzi were observed G1 group. majority this group (12 out 13) had significantly Akkermansia muciniphila bacteria, which are involved nutrition regeneration epithelium cells have anti‐inflammatory properties. G2 (patients comorbidities) F. prausnitzii, spp., A. Lactobacillus observed. A small percentage showed overgrowth yeast‐like fungi. Conclusion Although research needed, possibly analyses might enable plan personalized prebiotic probiotic could support intestine mucosal suffering

Microbiota is a collection of microorganisms that live in the oral cavity, respiratory tract and intestine of multicellular organisms. Microbiota exerts numerous physiological and pathological effects on the organism in which it resides. Increasing attention has been directed to the host-microbiota interaction, which is highly relevant to the development of carcinogenesis. Changes in the compos...

متن کاملGut microbiota and inflammation in chronic kidney disease patients
Inflammation is a multifactorial phenotype that in chronic kidney disease is associated with adverse patient outcomes. Recently, alterations in gut microbiota composition and intestinal barrier have been associated with inflammation and oxidative stress in CKD patients. Vanholder and Glorieux recently critically reviewed [Clin Kidney J (2015) 8 (2): 168-179] the current understanding of the rol...
