چکیده
Xanthones are secondary metabolites isolated from the peel of mangosteen showing medicinal potencies. Alpha-mangostin (α-MG) is most plentiful xanthone, which has been reported to possess anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-bacterial activities. We aimed investigate anti-inflammatory effects xanthones on LPS-treated hDPCs. Cell viability was determined using WST-1 assay. The mRNA protein expression profiles inflammatory mediators were evaluated quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) Western blot analysis. Anti-inflammatory assessed analysis examine underlying mechanisms. A one-way variance followed by Tukey’s post hoc test used determine statistically significant differences (p < 0.05). study found no between cytotoxic in α-MG-treated groups controls. levels markers α-MG treated decreased. significantly inhibited LPS-induced phosphorylation proteins associated with MAPK NF-κB pathways. This suggests that exerts suppressing signaling pathways

Transdifferentiation of Human Dental Pulp Stem Cells Into Oligoprogenitor Cells
Introduction: The nerve fibers in central nervous system are surrounded by myelin sheet which is formed by oligodendrocytes. Cell therapy based on oligodendrocytes and their precursors transplantation can hold a promising alternative treatment for myelin sheet repair in demyelinating diseases. Methods: Human Dental Pulp Stem Cells (hDPSCs) are noninvasive, autologous and easy available s...
متن کاملEffects of alpha-mangostin on memory senescence induced by high glucose in human umbilical vein endothelial cells
Objective(s): Hyperglycemia induces cellular senescence in various body cells, such as vascular endothelial cells. Since the vessels are highly distributed in the body and nourish all tissues, vascular damages cause diabetes complications such as kidney failure and visual impairment. Alpha-mangostin is a xanthone found in mangosteen fruit with protective effects in met...

OBJECTIVES The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on the migration and adhesion of human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) and the associated intracellular signalling pathways. METHODS hDPSCs obtained from impacted third molars were exposed to LPS and in vitro cell adhesion and migration were evaluated. The effects of LPS on gene expression of ad...

AIM To investigate the effect of simvastatin on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated inflammatory cytokines, cell adhesion molecules and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) transcription factors in human dental pulp cells (HDPCs). METHODOLOGY The effect of LPS and simvastatin on human dental pulp cell (HDPCs) viability was measured using a 3-[4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2, 5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide (...
