چکیده
The utilization of compost to enhance plant productivity and symbiotic nitrogen fixation (SNF) has been recognized as an effective alternative synthetic fertilizers. This environmentally sustainable method is readily accessible farmers. study investigated the effect olive pomace (“alperujo”, AL) on nodulation SNF soybeans (Glycine max L.) their natural symbiont (Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens). For that, soybean plants were subjected several doses AL under controlled greenhouse conditions. At end experiment, dry weight biomass (aerial part roots), number fresh nodules, leghaemoglobin contents analyzed. application significantly improved growth, demonstrated by increase in both height. Furthermore, nodular content found be enhanced addition (7 40%, respectively), indicating nodule effectiveness efficiency. Our results provide clear evidence synergetic soybean-B. diazoefficiens association, probably due AL-compost roots development, rhizospheric organic matter nutrients assimilation rhizobia.

Isocitrate dehydrogenase of Bradyrhizobium japonicum is not required for symbiotic nitrogen fixation with soybean.
A mutant strain of Bradyrhizobium japonicum USDA110 lacking isocitrate dehydrogenase activity was created to determine whether this enzyme was required for symbiotic nitrogen fixation with soybean (Glycine max cv. Williams 82). The isocitrate dehydrogenase mutant, strain 5051, was constructed by insertion of a streptomycin resistance gene cassette. The mutant was devoid of isocitrate dehydrogen...
متن کاملIdentification and use of actinomycetes for enhanced nodulation of soybean co-inoculated with Bradyrhizobium japonicum.
The utilization of actinomycetes as potential soybean (Glycine max (L.)) co-inoculants was evaluated. Soil samples from Carbondale and Belleville, Ill., were used to inoculate pre-germinated soybean plants to determine antibiotic sensitivity in the native Bradyrhizobium japonicum population. Sensitivity was in the order kanamycin > tetracycline > oxytetracycline > rifampicin > neomycin. Antagon...

1.1 Biological nitrogen fixation and nitrogen nutrition in soybean plants Biological nitrogen fixation is one of the most important processes for ecosystem to access available N for all living organisms. Although N2 consists 78% of atmosphere, but the triple bond between two N atoms is very stable, and only a few group of prokaryotes can fix N2 to ammonia by the enzyme nitrogenase. Annual rate ...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens USDA 122, a Nitrogen-Fixing Soybean Symbiont
We report the complete genome sequence of Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens USDA 122, a nitrogen-fixing soybean symbiont. The genome consists of a 9.1 Mb circular chromosome, and 8,551 coding sequences (CDSs) were predicted on the genome. The sequence will provide insight into the evolution of rhizobial genome, and the symbiotic compatibility with host plants.
متن کاملSymbiotic Nitrogen Fixation.
Biosphere nitrogen is subjected to rapid turnover, and because it is eventually lost as nitrogen into the atmosphere, its maintenance requires continuous replenishment with reduced nitrogen from atmospheric nitrogen. Biological reduction of nitrogen to ammonia can be performed only by some prokaryotes and is a highly oxygen-sensitive process. The most efficient nitrogen fixers establish a symbi...
