چکیده
Abstract Let F be an ordered topological vector space (over $$\mathbb {R}$$ R ) whose positive cone $$F_+$$ F + is weakly closed, and let $$E \subseteq F$$ E ⊆ a subspace. We prove that the set of continuous linear functionals on E can extended (positively continuously) to weak- $$*$$ ∗ dense in dual wedge $$E_+'$$ ′ . Furthermore, we show this result cannot generalized arbitrary operators, even finite-dimensional spaces.

Almost multiplicative linear functionals and approximate spectrum
We define a new type of spectrum, called δ-approximate spectrum, of an element a in a complex unital Banach algebra A and show that the δ-approximate spectrum σ_δ (a) of a is compact. The relation between the δ-approximate spectrum and the usual spectrum is investigated. Also an analogue of the classical Gleason-Kahane-Zelazko theorem is established: For each ε>0, there is δ>0 such that if ϕ is...

متن کاملModel Checking Almost All Paths Can Be Less Expensive Than Checking All Paths
We compare the complexities of the following two model checking problems: checking whether a linear-time formula is satis ed by all paths (which we call universal model checking) and checking whether a formula is satis ed by almost all paths (which we call fair model checking here). For many interesting classes of linear-time formulas, both problems have the same complexity: for instance, they ...

Using P0-simple functionals, we generalise the result from Theorem 1.1 obtained by Professor F. Qi (F. QI, An algebraic inequality, RGMIA Res. Rep. Coll., 2(1) (1999), article 8).
متن کاملPositive linear functionals without representing measures
For k even, let Pk denote the vector space of polynomials in 2 real variables of degree at most k. A linear functional L : Pk −→ R is positive if p ∈ Pk, p|R2 ≥ 0 =⇒ L(p) ≥ 0. Hilbert’s theorem on sums of squares (cf. [15]) implies that L : P4 −→ R is positive if and only if the moment matrix associated to L is positive semidefinite. In this note, using k = 6, we exhibit the first families of p...
