چکیده
Abstract The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is the nearest laboratory for detailed studies on formation and survival of complex organic molecules (COMs), including biologically important ones, in low-metallicity environments—typical earlier cosmological epochs. We report results 1.2 mm continuum molecular line observations three fields star-forming region N 105 with Atacama Millimeter/submillimeter Array. lies at western edge LMC bar ongoing star traced by H 2 O, OH, CH 3 OH masers, ultracompact ii regions, young stellar objects. Based spectral modeling, we estimated rotational temperatures, column densities, fractional abundances 12 sources. identified sources a range chemical makeups, two bona fide hot cores four core candidates. emission widespread associated all COMs CN OCH are detected toward together smaller typically found Galactic (e.g., SO , SO, HNCO) roughly scaling metallicity. tentative detection astrobiologically relevant formamide molecule (NH CHO) one cores; if confirmed, this would be first NH CHO an extragalactic subsolar metallicity environment. suggest that inhomogeneities resulting from tidal interactions between Small might have led to observed large variations COM cores.

Molecular abundances in the Magellanic Clouds III. LIRS 36, a star-forming region in the Small Magellanic Cloud?
Detections of CO, CS, SO, C2H,HCO, HCN,HNC, H2CO, and C3H2 are reported from LIRS 36, a star-forming region in the Small Magellanic Cloud. C18O, NO, CH3OH, and most notably CN have not been detected, while the rare isotopes 13CO and, tentatively, C34S are seen. This is so far the most extensive molecular multiline study of an interstellar medium with a heavy element depletion exceeding a factor...
متن کاملFermi Observations of the Large Magellanic Cloud
We report on observations of the Large Magellanic Cloud with the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope. The LMC is clearly detected with the Large Area Telescope (LAT) and for the first time the emission is spatially well resolved in gamma-rays. Our observations reveal that the bulk of the gamma-ray emission arises from the 30 Doradus region. We discuss this result in light of the massive star popula...
متن کاملA necklace of dense cores in the high-mass star forming region G35.20−0.74 N: ALMA observations⋆⋆⋆
Context. The formation process of high-mass stars (with masses >8 M ) is still poorly understood, and represents a challenge from both the theoretical and observational points of view. The advent of the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) is expected to provide observational evidence to better constrain the theoretical scenarios. Aims. The present study aims at characterizing the high-mass st...

15 صفحه اولThe Star Formation History of the Large Magellanic Cloud
We present the first-ever global, spatially-resolved reconstruction of the star formation history (SFH) of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), based on the application of our StarFISH analysis software to the multiband photometry of twenty million of its stars from the Magellanic Clouds Photometric Survey. The general outlines of our results are consistent with previously published results: follo...
