Allometric Regression of Snake Body Length from Head Image Measurements

چکیده

ABSTRACT As in many fields of wildlife research and management, camera devices photogrammetry have become an integral part the toolkit for exploring otherwise‐unseen aspects biology, behavior, control invasive brown treesnake ( Boiga irregularis ) on Guam. Because treesnakes are cryptic nocturnal, nearly all their ecology influenced by snake size, methods needed to estimate size from images captured infrared cameras. Unfortunately, it is difficult capture entire snake's length at a controlled distance simple setup. Here, I describe allometric relationships between body potential predictors: head measurements, sex, condition. Head (HL) was most important predictor length, alone accounting 95.9% variation snout‐vent (SVL). We provide regression equations predicting example how extract measurements images, convenient lookup table SVL 80% prediction intervals HL alone. Coupled with setup that controls subject includes standards image, we can include only when photographed above. These been developed enable ongoing assessments predation risk following landscape‐scale suppression efforts could reintroduction extirpated native wildlife. Published 2021. The Estimation of Body Weight from Body Measurements in Kilakarsal Sheep of Tamil Nadu, India

Data on body weight and body measurements (body length, height at withers, chest girth and paunch girth) of adult Kilakarsal sheep have been collected from 124 adult animals managed at the farmers filed in Tirunelveli districts of Tami Nadu, India to estimate the body weight from body measurements. The data were subjected to standard statistical analysis using SPSS software and linear regressio...

Regression equations between body and head measurements in the broad-snouted Caiman (Caiman latirostris).

In the present study, regression equations between body and head length measurements for the broad-snouted caiman (Caiman latirostris) are presented. Age and sex are discussed as sources of variation for allometric models. Four body-length, fourteen head-length, and ten ratio variables were taken from wild and captive animals. With the exception of body mass, log-transformation did not improve ...

Image Metamorphosis based on Elastic Body Spline and Snake Model

Image metamorphosis ( For short, image morphing ) is an active eld of research and recent e orts aim at improving both user interface and warping results. Generally, the morphing technique involves three problems. The rst is to establish correspondence between given two images, which is most di cult part of morphing process. The correspondence is usually established by hand. The second problem ...

Allometric relationships among body mass, MUZZLE-tail length, and tibia length during the growth of Wistar rats.

PURPOSE To investigate allometric relationships among body mass (BM), muzzle-tail length (MTL), and tibia length (TL) in Wistar rats and establish their growth rate change parameters. METHODS Eighteen male and 18 female Wistar rats were studied from the 3rd to the 21st week of age. BM, MTL, and TL were measured daily, and relative growth was compared using allometry. RESULTS A positive corr...

Allometric trajectories of body and head morphology in three sympatric Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus (L.)) morphs

A study of body and head development in three sympatric reproductively isolated Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus (L.)) morphs from a subarctic lake (Skogsfjordvatn, northern Norway) revealed allometric trajectories that resulted in morphological differences. The three morphs were ecologically assigned to a littoral omnivore, a profundal benthivore and a profundal piscivore, and this was confirm...
