Alkaline-earth metal-doped perovskites La0.95A0.05MnO3+δ (A = Ca, Sr): New structural and magnetic features revealed by 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy and magnetic measurements

Ca- and Sr-doped lanthanum manganese perovskites La0.95A0.05Mn0.98Fe0.02O3+δ (A = Ca, Sr) (LCM LSM) of non-stoichiometric (NS) stoichiometric (S) compositions were prepared by sol-gel method investigated 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy magnetic measurements. In contrast to samples, which contain pure singles phases, a mixture orthorhombic phases O (PnmaI), O′ (PnmaII)and O′′ (PnmaII*)are detected in samples compositions. The data, supported measurements, show the spontaneous formation magnetically ordered clusters with sizes range 2.5–4.6 nm all samples. main differences between LCM LSM systems, particular less extended phase separation LSM-S than LCM-S is connected difference ionic radii on doping ions, influence Jahn-Teller effect at Mn+3 centres size distributions ferromagnetic clusters. Our results show, for first time, that (PnmaII*) characterized antiferromagnetic ordering.
